In a Decision – A.K. v. D.G. ,, (an "Unreported Decision") >> the Court Held:
The Appellate Division affirmed the Trial Court Decision because Wife had articulated the need of the children and Husband had significant income.
The Court found that the Trial Court had applied the Child Support Guidelines to the maximum basis and applied a further amount of child support because Wife had properly articulated the needs of the children and Husband had significant income. (The Court too determined that the Husband had improperly withheld his consent to the engagement of extracurricular activities.)
In the context of high-income parents whose ability to pay is not an issue, "the dominant guideline for consideration is the reasonable needs of the children, which must be addressed in the context of the standard of living of the parties. The needs of the children must be the centerpiece of any relevant analysis."
