The Appellate Division agreed that the parent who failed to enroll the children in school and failed to establish any lesson plan constituted educational neglect. conduct had placed the children in imminent danger of being harmed and that their behavior justified a finding of abuse or neglect. The Appellate Division set forth that the parent had educationally neglected her children by failing to supply them with an education. The Appellate Division stated that the New Jersey Supreme Court had linked truancy to child neglect where a parent had encouraged truancy or otherwise interfered with their child's normal education.
